Icelandair is seeking a Scheduling Analyst to join the Network Planning & Scheduling department. This is a 1-year temporary position, with the potential of becoming permanent.

Network Planning & Scheduling is responsible for developing Icelandair’s route network, maintaining the flight schedule, and managing seat capacity across our international and domestic operations. The team is part of Icelandair’s Commercial Division and works closely with colleagues in Revenue Management, Sales, Operations, and Finance.

The Network Planning & Scheduling team has undergone significant transformation in recent years, adopting advanced optimization tools and a highly collaborative, flexible working culture. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment where analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional communication are essential.

As a Scheduling Analyst, you’ll be part of the scheduling team within Network Planning & Scheduling. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving Icelandair‘s flight schedules to maximise fleet utilisation and operational robustness. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to details and a knack for finding innovative solutions to complex scheduling challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Icelandair’s schedule across the international and domestic network to maximize profitability and operational efficiency, while accounting for stakeholder constraints and priorities.
• Assist in building business cases for schedule changes or new flight opportunities
• Support forward-looking schedule monitoring, identifying potential conflicts or capacity constraints
• Contribute to cross-functional projects to improve scheduling processes and tools
• Oversee the publication of Icelandair’s schedule across flight information systems, booking platforms, and distribution channels
• Coordination of flight schedule and aircraft maintenance, both short- and long-term
• Schedule management for Icelandair subsidiaries: VITA, Loftleiðir and Icelandair Cargo
• Supervision, testing and production management of partner-operated flights (codeshare)

Qualifications:

• University degree fit for purpose
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Pro-activity, organization, precision, and the ability to manage projects
• Experience with data analysis and scheduling, ideally within the airline or transportation sector
• Knowledge of flight information systems and/or booking systems is beneficial
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
