STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Avionics Installation Technicians to join a fast-moving, high-performing maintenance team in Moline, Illinois. This role is hands-on, technical, and mission-critical. Role Overview:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex electrical and avionics systems on corporate jet aircraft. You’ll work directly with aircraft wiring, panels, systems, and avionics components—ensuring functionality, safety, and compliance every step of the way.
What You’ll Do:
- Remove and install panels, components, interiors, and avionics systems
- Bundle and install wiring connectors with precision
- Remove outdated wiring and install new wire bundles according to specs
- Troubleshoot and evaluate avionics systems as needed
- Perform inspections on aircraft and avionics components
- Assist with aircraft movement and hangar positioning
- Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work environment
- Navigate maintenance databases and digital manuals
- Work independently or as part of a collaborative team
- Follow all company, FAA, and airport guidelines
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working with electrical and avionics systems on corporate jet aircraft
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of formal electronics or avionics training
- Strong understanding of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145
- Must meet airport security clearance requirements (AOA badge eligibility)
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute work based on technical documentation
Preferred Experience:
- Corporate jet experience on platforms like Learjet, Citation, Hawker, Gulfstream, Falcon, or similar
- Previous experience with aircraft wire routing, troubleshooting, or integration
- General maintenance background in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station
