Position Summary
* The Avionics Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and inspecting aircraft avionics and electrical systems. This role requires a solid understanding of FAA regulations, electronic schematics, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet maintenance schedules. Education and Qualifications(Required)
* Must have a High School Diploma or GED required; technical school or avionics training (preferred).
* Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience working with aircraft avionics systems (CRJ200 preferred; Corporate/Regional also).
* Must have your own tools
* Have a proficiency; with avionics test equipment and hand tools.
* Possess a strong knowledge of FAA regulations and standards (Part 43, 91, 145, etc.).
* Possess the ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
* Possess strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
* Possess good communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated areas. Preferred Qualifications:
* FAA Repairman Certificate or A&P License (Airframe certification preferred).
* Experience with Garmin, Bendix/King, Avidyne, or Dynon systems.
* Familiarity with ADS-B installations and upgrades.
* FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is a plus. Key Responsibilities:
* Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and functional testing of avionics systems and components.
* Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and maintenance documents.
* Install and configure communications, navigation, autopilot, GPS, ADS-B, and other advanced avionics systems.
* Conduct system checks and verify airworthiness in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
* Perform inspections and ensure proper documentation of maintenance and repair activities.
* Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate work schedules and aircraft readiness.
* Maintain inventory of avionics tools and parts.
* Ensure compliance with Sherpa-Air safety protocols and FAA regulations.
