The DigitalRF DSP Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software systems that process digital signals for intelligence and military purposes. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of signal processing techniques and algorithms, networking, packets and be familiar with the latest hardware and software tools used in Linux SW & DSP (e.g. Vivado) development. The role requires a strong team player who can work closely with hardware engineers, system architects, and other software developers to bring innovative solutions to the intelligence, military, and defense sectors.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Solid understanding of digital logic circuits, finite state machines
- Solid understanding of VHDL or (System)Verilog hardware description languages
- Basic understanding of common industry interface protocols (AXI4-Lite, AXI4-Stream, WishBone)
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Experience working in multi-FPGA developer teams
- Experience with component level HDL development/unit simulation/analysis/synthesis
- Experience with basic multi-component, hierarchical FPGA HDL development
- Experience with basic FPGA level simulation/analysis, synthesis/implementation/place/route, timing constraints/timing analysis/timing closure, and hardware/FPGA/software integration
- Experience with basic Hardware in the Loop debug (Chipscope/SignalTap/in design logic analysis tools)
- Experience with scripting languages (TCL, Python, Shell)
- Experience with source code management systems (Github, Gitlab, BitBucket, etc)
- Experience with task/bug tracking systems (Github projects, Atlassian Jira)
- Experience using/developing in the Linux Operating System
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Solid understanding of VHDL language
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx FPGA devices (7-series or newer)
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx SoC devices (7-series or newer)
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx Vivado implementation and lab tools
- Experience with Modelsim/Questa/RivieraPro/ActiveHDL/GHDL HDL simulators
- Experience implementing DSP (RTL or IP cores) in FPGA designs
- Basic understanding of DSP concepts
- Experience using Verification IP and Simulation frameworks (OSVVM, VUNIT)
- Experience with external interfaces (SPI, QSPI, I2C, 1 GbE, DDR3/4)
- Experience with external transceiver interfaces (PCIe, JESD204B/C, Aurora, 10-100GbE)
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Experience with lab equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generators)

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $108,496.89 - $149,183.22. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
