We are currently seeking an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) to join our team in Islamabad and support aircraft maintenance operations in line with the highest industry standards.
The Licensed Aircraft Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that aircraft maintenance tasks and certification activities during both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inputs are carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and serviceability. The role requires the appropriate application of certification privileges in accordance with company authorisations while ensuring full compliance with manufacturer requirements, regulatory authorities, and Emirates Engineering procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance and servicing tasks in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and approved safety procedures, ensuring that assigned aircraft and maintenance zones are maintained in accordance with the latest technical documentation and regulatory standards. The role requires adherence to technical publications including aircraft documentation, engineering procedures, technical notices, and quality notices while ensuring personal licensing and certification approvals remain valid and applicable to the aircraft types being handled. The engineer will ensure prompt attendance to aircraft arrivals and departures to maximise available ground time and minimise operational disruptions.
In addition, the role involves ensuring that all off-aircraft tasks such as spares handling, tooling, robberies, and materials management are handled strictly in accordance with company procedures and that documentation is maintained with full transparency. The engineer will troubleshoot technical defects using approved procedures to ensure efficient fault rectification and cost-effective maintenance practices. A strong focus on safety is essential, including monitoring activities to ensure full compliance with company safety policies, maintaining clean work areas to prevent Foreign Object Debris (FOD), and ensuring adherence to airport safety regulations, including holding a valid airport driving permit where required.
The role also requires maintaining effective communication with managers, senior engineers, and operational teams to ensure a seamless flow of information and timely resolution of operational issues. The engineer will prepare detailed reports related to service delays, incidents, and maintenance activities and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance. Additionally, the individual will support staff development by guiding and mentoring junior engineers and trainees, conducting performance reviews where required, and stepping into shift manager or senior engineer responsibilities when delegated.
The position requires participation in ongoing training programmes, including recurrent Human Factors Training in compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate must also demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, including being available for deployment to diversionary airfields to assist with Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery operations or representing Emirates Engineering at aircraft manufacturer facilities for aircraft acceptance, maintenance oversight, or delivery processes.
QualificationApplicants must hold a National or Higher National Diploma (12+2 or equivalent) or an apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering from a recognised institution or approved maintenance organisation. Candidates must possess a valid UAE GCAA, ICAO Type II, or JAR 66 licence with type ratings on at least two Emirates aircraft types along with the required company approvals. A minimum of 9 years of experience in an aviation maintenance environment, including at least two years of certifying experience as a licence holder, is required. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of air legislation and legal requirements related to the operation and maintenance of aircraft to international standards.
