Job Description:
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer or Sr Principal Systems Engineer based out of Huntsville, Alabama for the IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System is a revolutionary, network enabled command-and control system developed by Northrop Grumman that Poland has deployed to unify its air and missile defense sensors and shooters. IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS Poland Integrated Battle Command System into their militaries, the US and other nations are transforming their integrated missile defense capabilities in a consistent manner.
The ideal candidate(s) will have experience in systems engineering lifecycle of missile / weapon system development program(s), functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance; Reviewing the SOW to generate and present data analysis using the results gathered to support internal and external stakeholder meetings. They will have technical knowledge in one or more of the subsystems of missile/weapon system, e.g., RF/sensors, guidance, command & control systems.
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Systems Engineer – Level 3 or a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Level 4.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Principal Systems Engineer – Level 3: Bachelor’s in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant work experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of relevant work experience, or PhD with 1-year relevant work experience
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Level 4: Bachelor’s in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of relevant work experience, or Masters Degree and 6 years of relevant work experience, or PhD with 4 years relevant work experience
Active Secret Clearance to Start
Must have experience in SAFe Agile
Experience developing and updating interface definition
Applicants must possess excellent communication and collaboration Skills
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to think critically and capture concepts and results in presentations
Must be able to support an in-person/ closed-area work environment
System analysis experience
Provide regular mentorship / leadership to teams on MBSE design best-practices and “systems thinking"
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical experience with IAMD and/or IBCS Program
Cross-team collaboration experience
MBSE experience or INCOSE Certifications
Experience with Teamwork Cloud
Experience with working in an Agile development environment
Experience utilizing Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
Experience developing SE Artifacts and supporting documentation
Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
