Test Engineer
32 - 36 per hour
Morson are currently recruiting for a Electronic Test Engineer for one of our distinguished defence clients based in Stevenage. You would be responsible for testing and diagnosing electrical / electronic components in a manufacturing environment. Our client produces weapons systems for which you will test sub-systems and circuit cards during the production phase of the electrical components.
The role is being offered due to increased demand, and hence being offered on an initial 12-month contract basis with opportunities to extend or convert into a permanent role. You will be full time on site in Stevenage. We can pay a rate ranging from 32 - 36 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a small team of dedicated engineers to provide testing support in a manufacturing environment.
- Diagnose electronic test failures.
- Provide test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor.
- Support the introduction of new electronic test equipment.
- Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.
- Generating test specifications, and technical reports.
- Support meetings with Quality Control to provide updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.
Essential Experience
- Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
- Experience with measurement and test principles, and associated test equipment.
- Electronic system and sub-system level fault finding.
- High Voltage training/awareness.
- MS Office skills including technical specification and report preparation.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level.
- Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment.
- CADMID product lifecycle knowledge.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
