We’re hiring a Manual Machinist for a production-focused shop where hands‑on experience, reliability, and attention to detail can lead to something more permanent.

Job Type: Temp‑to‑Perm
Schedule: Full-time Shop-based with occasional field work
Pay Rate: $23.00 – $26.00/hour (DOE)
Position OverviewPerform manual machining and inspection of new and used components
Support production machining with some repair and touch‑up work
Maintain critical tolerances and quality standards
Work primarily in a shop environment with limited field service as needed
Key ResponsibilitiesSet up tooling and manual machines for production
Operate manual lathes and mills
Read and machine parts from blueprints, drawings, and samples
Machine components from bar stock and raw castings
Perform repair machining while maintaining critical dimensions
Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of finished parts
Complete inspection reports and required documentation
Apply shop math, including trigonometry, in daily tasks
Select proper cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and coolant
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
Participate in safety and quality initiatives as required
Equipment & Work ScopeProduction-focused machining with some repair work
Exposure to welding-related processes and equipment, including:
Submerged arc (sub arc) welding
Wire feed welding systems
Robotic welding equipment
TIG welding experience is a plus, but not required
Required Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience operating manual machining equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and tolerances
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED
2+ years of machining or related industry experience
Experience operating manual lathes and mills
Working knowledge of machining techniques and materials
Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree in a mechanical or technical field
Experience in process control or similar industries
Ability to diagnose and resolve machining or process issues
Experience with Fisher and Final Control products
Work Environment & Physical RequirementsManufacturing shop environment with occasional field work
Prolonged standing, bending, and repetitive motion
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Pay Details: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour
