STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Senior Aircraft Mechanics to join a highly skilled maintenance team in Moline, Illinois. If you’re hands-on, detail-driven, and looking to lead from the front, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex aircraft repair and inspection tasks while supporting and mentoring other technicians.
This is a second-shift position supporting business jet maintenance operations with a focus on high standards, technical precision, and team collaboration.
Role Overview:
The Senior Aircraft Mechanic performs inspections, testing, repairs, and other maintenance-related work on airframe and engine systems. This role also supports documentation compliance and takes a leadership role in aircraft projects under the direction of a Crew Chief or Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on a range of aircraft systems and components
- Reference manufacturer technical documentation to execute tasks with precision and accuracy
- Lead aircraft maintenance projects and assist with mentoring junior technicians
- Prepare and complete detailed maintenance and modification records per FAA, company, and regulatory guidelines
- Access and interpret technical data to accomplish tasks across a variety of airframe and engine systems
- Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, OSHA standards, and company EHS policies
- Keep work environment clean, organized, and in full alignment with safety standards
- Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Familiarity with FAA regulations including FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145
- Experience with turbine-powered aircraft maintenance is a plus
- Must be able to attain and retain airport AOA badge and meet all airport security requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Elliott Aviation Production Inspector designation (Blue Stamp)
