Position Summary
* We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with aircraft structures and metalwork, and will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, fabricating, and modifying aircraft sheet metal components in accordance with FAA regulations and Sherpa-Air standards. Education and Qualifications(Required)
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in aviation sheet metal work.
* Must have CRJ experience, CRJ200 preferred.
* Proficiency in aircraft structural repairs, riveting, and metal fabrication.
* Ability to read and understand blueprints, aircraft manuals, and FAA documentation.
* Familiarity with aircraft materials, including aluminum alloys and composites.
* Must have your own tools.
* Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in tight or elevated spaces. Preferred Qualifications
* FAA Airframe license is a plus.
* Experience with general aviation aircraft structures (Cessna, Piper, etc.).
* Knowledge of corrosion control and structural inspection techniques.Key Responsibilities
* Inspect and evaluate structural damage on aircraft and determine best repair methods.
* Fabricate, repair, and install sheet metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery.
* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and FAA repair documents.
* Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and company procedures.
* Utilize measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to ensure precise repairs and alignments.
* Remove, replace, or repair aircraft skin, frames, bulkheads, and other structural components.
* Keep accurate records of all work performed in maintenance logs and reports.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
