Job Description:
Program Overview:
This is a 6-week accelerated Fast Track Program designed specifically for military veterans with aircraft mechanic experience to obtain their FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license. Qualified candidates will receive focused training and on-site FAA testing. Upon successful completion and passing of all required exams, candidates will be awarded their A&P license

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Previous military aircraft mechanic experience required (MOS, AFSC, NEC, or equivalent).
  • Must meet FAA eligibility requirements to test for A&P under FAR Part 65.77 based on practical experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must provide DD-214 showing honorable discharge or current military status.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must be willing to commit to full-time employment upon completion of program.

Key Responsibilities (After A&P Certification):

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft per FAA and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace aircraft systems and components including airframe, powerplant, electrical, and avionics.
  • Complete all required documentation including logbook entries, work packages, and FAA forms.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR Part 145, Part 43, and all company safety and quality procedures.
  • Support a safety-conscious, quality-oriented team environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Climate-controlled classrooms and hangar environment during training.
  • Standard maintenance hangar environment post-certification with exposure to noise, chemicals, and dust per OSHA standards.
  • May require work at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs with/without reasonable accommodation.
  • Various shifts available including 1st, 2nd, and weekends.

Tool Requirements
  • Tool Inventory: Provide a typed tool inventory sheet with a minimum tool list.
  • Tool Identification: Tools must be shadowed and etched with 2 letters and 4 numbers (e.g., AB1234).
Uniform Policy
  • Uniform Requirements: Wear the specified uniform, including:
  • Navy Blue or Grey Pants
  • Solid Dark Grey T-Shirt or Sweatshirt
  • Solid black professional-looking closed-toe shoes
  • Solid black belt or suspenders (no exposed metal)
  • Solid black winter hats or knit caps
  • Safety Shoes: Steel, Composite, or Aluminum-toed shoes required.

Eligibility
  • Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or have work authorization.
