Job Description:
Description:
The APEX Program lead is responsible for the implementation of the Accelerated Performance Excellence (APEX) program across Lockheed Martin, driving a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence. This candidate will be responsible for leading and harmonizing the APEX framework including tools, processes , and skills development across Business Areas (BAs) with effective cross BA partnership and communication.
The APEX Program Lead will work closely with Executive Stakeholders across the enterprise requiring strong collaboration and partnership to meet APEX milestones and program schedule.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Ensuring a consistent Operating Model is implemented and sustained
• APEX Strategy Development: Collaborate with BA leaders and stakeholders to ensure APEX strategy is aligned with Lockheed Martins strategic initiatives (e.g., Model Based Enterprise, 1LMX, Artificial Intelligence).
• BA Engagement: Work with BA leaders to identify and prioritize APEX projects, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
• Tool and Process Harmonization: Develop and implement standardized APEX tools, definitions, and reporting procedures across BAs, ensuring consistency and interoperability.
• Project Intake and Value Tracking: Establish a robust project intake process, ensuring that APEX projects are properly chartered, resourced, and tracked, with a focus on value creation and cost savings.
• Resource Management: Develop and implement a resource management plan, ensuring that APEX practitioners and lean subject matter experts are effectively deployed across the enterprise to support project execution.
• Training and Development: Collaborate with HR and BA leaders to develop and deliver APEX training programs, ensuring that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to drive cultural transformation.
• Metrics and Reporting: Establish a comprehensive metrics and reporting framework, providing visibility into APEX project performance, value creation, and cost savings across the enterprise.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with BA leaders, stakeholders, and employees, ensuring that APEX initiatives are aligned with business objectives and that stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.
Basic Qualifications:

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive APEX strategy aligned with Lockheed Martins strategic initiatives.
• Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to drive cultural transformation and achieve business objectives.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders and employees across the enterprise.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring successful project execution.
• Continuous Improvement: Deep understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and experience in applying these methodologies to drive business results.
Desired Skills:
While not required, the following desired qualifications will be considered a plus for candidates applying for the position:
• Advanced Degree: A masters degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Certifications: Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (e.g., Black Belt, Green Belt).
• Change Management Experience: Experience in driving cultural transformation and change management initiatives across large organizations.
• Data Analysis Skills: Strong data analysis skills, with experience in using data to drive business decisions and measure performance.
• Experience with APEX or Similar Programs: Experience with APEX or similar programs, with knowledge of the tools, processes, and skills development required to drive performance excellence.
• Executive-Level Experience: Experience working with executive-level stakeholders, with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships.
• Training and Development Experience: Experience in developing and delivering training programs, with the ability to ensure that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to drive cultural transformation.
It is preferred that a candidate be accessible to an LM Hub office, additionally travel for the role may be required.

Ability to Work Remotely:
Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $141,300 - $244,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
