About the role:
Qatar Airways (QR) are now recruiting for the role of Cargo Trucking Operations Manager based in Wroclaw, Poland.
You will be Responsible for direct supervision of networkwide trucking operations (Road Feeder Services - RFS) by leading a team of truck planners and operational staff to manage the Road Operations Centre (ROC) that is responsible for all trucking operational decisions within operational window of 24 hours. You will provide tactical guidance to direct reports within the ROC and sets priorities based on commercial and operational needs. Additionally, you will be first in charge for all RFS related operational events ensuring all relevant stakeholders are pro-actively informed and kept up to date on all significant disruptions and safety events.
Some of the tasks include:
• Manage daily activities of 24x7 road operations centre (ROC) in partnership with relevant stakeholders to ensure company objectives are met in the most cost-effective manner.
• Ensure implemented policies and standards are followed to achieve operational excellence and optimum performance from external service providers.
• In cooperation with the line manager, conduct technical evaluations of existing and potential providers, to ensure highest possible technological level of fleet available to operate for QR.
• Monitor performance of trucking operations through review of daily and weekly data to ensure the standard of service meets defined KPIs.
• When required, perform and supervise execution of business continuity process to manage crisis in coordination with the regional stakeholders, trucking suppliers and other relevant parties to ensure business continuity.
• Conduct training and familiarization of staff joining ROC to ensure smooth onboarding.
• Support conducting internal investigations, through operational expertise, in case of truck non compliances, service failures or deficiencies and implement actions to ensure highest performance standards.
• Analyse workload and allocate available staff to tasks to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 coverage.
• Ensures ROC outgoing communication is precise, professional and within specified timeline, by delivering staff training and daily supervision, to prevent service failures and increase quality of RFS operations.
• Analyses ad hoc service purchases, in partnership with commercial teams, to ensure these are justified from operational and financial standpoints.
• Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
• Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
• Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
• Relevant College or University qualifications with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience in the road freight industry.
• Good understanding and experience of various road transport operation concepts used in European trucking
• Good understanding and experience of legal framework regulating European road transport operations
• Knowledge and experience of European road system structure, standards and regulations
• Experience in planning/monitoring transportation of temperature-controlled cargo is an advantage
• Experience in planning/monitoring transportation of oversized/abnormal cargo is an advantage
• Proficient in road feeder services is an advantage
• Understanding of special loads handling is an advantage
• Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinates skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
• Fluency in spoken and written English
