ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAMAs a Lead Software Developer and Technology Owner, you will lead an established team in developing scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. You will oversee the complete lifecycle of both hosted and customer-deployed solutions, ensuring they adhere to robust architectural principles, incorporate modern design elements, and feature seamless cloud integration. Collaboration with business stakeholders and the portfolio architect will be key to clarifying requirements and defining the solution scope. Additionally, you will establish initial solutions to address these requirements and work closely with the Portfolio Architect and domain experts to guarantee alignment with architectural strategy and organizational policies. This role involves partnering with distributed teams across various locations and time zones to deliver innovative products and services that advance our organization’s strategic objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:- Collaborate the Portfolio Architect and team to design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end applications and services using Java.
- Lead team efforts to modernize legacy systems to make them cloud native.
- Lead team effort to build and enhance cloud-native applications leveraging the Azure technology stack, such as Azure Functions, App Services, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
- Lead team effort to maintain and improve a C-based integration platform.
- Lead team effort to develop modern, responsive user interfaces using ReactJS and TypeScript.
- Lead team effort to write and maintain automated integration, regression, and performance test suites for both back-end and front-end applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead team efforts to ensure application performance, quality, and security through best practices and rigorous code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the full software stack to ensure system reliability and availability.
- Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and fostering technical growth within the team.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and contribute innovative ideas to improve products and processes.
Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Expertise in secure coding practices and application security fundamentals.
- Expertise building back-end applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing modern web applications with ReactJS and TypeScript.
- Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications on Azure.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience working with message queue technologies (JMS, AMQP, etc.) for efficient communication between distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes on Azure).
NICE-TO-HAVE:- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with working in teams who employed Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of C, including maintenance of legacy codebases
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools available within Azure.
- Knowledge of state management in React applications.
- Familiarity with the Strangler Fig pattern for incrementally replacing legacy systems.
