Job PurposeAt Emirates our Revenue Optimisation team is responsible for managing a combination of pricing, demand, and spaneting strategies. We work to maximize revenue growth for our organisation, ensuring Emirates Group continues to reach its targets!
The Manager Revenue Optimisation, Operations Research will manage mid to short term (12 month) revenue optimisation spanet strategies, standards and procedures to maximise revenue at acceptable yields and seat factor, utilising PROS OD, pricing and demand management analysis tools. Ensure RO spanet strategy is formulated in conjunction with the Commercial teams and that it is translated into measurable Key Performance Indicators i.e. spanet share, point-of- sale OD forecast, yield, seat factor and SLAs. Maximise network traffic flow and revenue through the effective use of the PROS OD system. Ensure RO standards and procedures are defined, communicated, and enforced across all areas of Revenue Optimisation. Ensure all staff are comprehensively trained across all aspects of Revenue Optimisation and staff are developed in line with departmental KPIs.
In this role, you will:
- Continuously develop, formulate and execute OR, AI and ML models for decision support and execution by RO Pricing, Demand and Inventory teams. Manage the portfolio of RO-OR apps and support vendor RO apps from a modelling and testing focus.
- Conduct research and modelling of willingness-to-pay, passenger spill and recapture scenario, price elasticity and segmentation to help maximize Emirates Passenger network revenue. Work on new sources of shopping and customer data and propensity for ancillaries and bundles within the Emirates offerings.
- Study impact of pricing strategies, demand influences, groups, interline and inventory control strategies throughout the entire booking life cycle to review and recommend optimal strategies.
- Develop mathematical model and simulations with a focus on customer segmentation, competitive positioning, and channels of distribution and expanding our understanding of the spanetplace. Use sophisticated simulations, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques to support, refute, or refine the applications and initiatives in the RO department.
- Manage the OR team and support the larger Revenue steering department on large projects and initiatives including Modern Airline Retailing program to accomplish department objectives. Work closely with the IT, EDA and other business units within Emirates on cross-functional data and analytics projects.
- Participate with peers from inside and outside the company at Operations Research forums, to keep abreast of the latest advances in the science of RM and represent EK.
- Accountable for supporting the design, research and implementation of long-term innovative projects that give a commercial edge to EK and contribute additional incremental revenue of 1-3 .
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelors degree or honours with 8+ years of experience in OR models and applied research to RO, RM, Pricing and Segmentation background and experience in solving complex business problems
- Masters Degree in OR, IE, Economics, Engineering or a related applied mathematical field. PhD preferred
- A strong focus on modelling, analytics, AI/ML tools and techniques a must
Knowledge/skills
- Ability to structure and define complex problems and to use data query tools to pull the necessary data from the relevant data sources for modelling.
- Ability to test the models using tools like R, SAS, python, Databricks and related tools.
- Must have a proven track record of presenting complex problems and recommendations to Senior Management
- Team management and cross-functional delivery experience preferred
