Position Summary
The Product Manager Distribution Technology is a pivotal member of JetBlue’s Commercial Technology team. This role is responsible for supporting and advancing JetBlue’s airline distribution strategy, encompassing both traditional Global Distribution System (GDS) and Online Travel Agency (OTA) channels, as well as leading the technology transition to New Distribution Capability (NDC). In addition, this role oversees the technical enablement of corporate sales programs and airline partnerships, ensuring these channels are supported by modern, integrated technology solutions that drive revenue, improve customer and airline partner experiences, and strengthen JetBlue’s competitive position.
This position requires a strategic and innovative approach to product management, focusing on operational excellence, enhanced user experience, and future-proofing commercial and distribution systems. The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex, high-impact initiatives, navigating evolving industry standards, and driving continuous improvements. Essential Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap Development: Define and lead the strategic vision for JetBlue’s NDC distribution, corporate sales and airline partnership technology platforms. Develop and maintain an eighteen-month roadmap that prioritizes features supporting distribution, corporate sales enablement, and partnership strategies, ensuring seamless integration across commercial systems and external partner networks.
- Business Partner Management: Manage the technical relationships with business partners across GDS, OTA, NDC, corporate sales, and airline partnerships. Collaborate with third-party providers, TMCs, corporate clients, and alliance partners to enhance JetBlue’s capabilities and maximize the effectiveness of content distribution, program delivery, and joint offerings.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with internal stakeholders in Revenue Management, Distribution Strategy, Sales and Alliance teams to design and align on the execution of NDC and other strategic initiatives. Facilitate requirements gathering, alignment on priorities, and the translation of business needs into actionable product requirements for all supported channels.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of distribution, corporate sales, and partnership-related technology products, guiding them through the Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver phases. Prioritize features and system enhancements to optimize JetBlue’s presence in both traditional and next-generation distribution channels.
- Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Define and monitor performance metrics such as booking accuracy, content responsiveness, and channel efficiency. Leverage data insights to identify and implement improvements that enhance revenue performance and the partner/customer experience.
- Quality Assurance & Risk Management: Participate in acceptance testing and quality assurance processes to validate that products meet business requirements and perform reliably. Proactively address risks related to system dependencies, regulatory compliance, and industry changes, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Alignment & Best Practices: Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure distribution, sales and partnerships technologies align with broader IT product management practices. Share best practices and foster synergies across departments, particularly with Revenue Management (RM), Pricing, Sales, Network Planning and Digital teams.
- Technology Research & Innovation: Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in GDS, OTA, NDC, corporate booking tools and airline partnerships technologies. Explore and prototype innovative tools and solutions to enhance JetBlue’s distribution, sales and airline partnership strategy and support commercial goals.
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all distribution technology products adhere to JetBlue’s IT standards, industry regulations, and data security requirements. Develop and maintain contingency plans to manage potential disruptions or compliance issues.
