As Senior Manager, Cargo Excellence, you’ll shape the future of our Cargo business, leading with purpose to inspire our teams and leadership community to deliver outstanding results.

You’ll architect our long-term Cargo strategy, aligning it seamlessly with the wider airline vision. From developing innovative products and driving digital transformation to elevating our presence through compelling events and communications—you’ll be the driving force behind how we bring the Virgin Atlantic Cargo story to life.

You’ll also champion Cargo Care, ensuring our promise of fast, empathetic, and precise customer service is always met. As part of the Cargo Leadership Team, you’ll influence people practices, spaneting, PR, and commercial strategy, cementing our place as the industry’s most loved cargo carrier.

Lead with clarity and integrity, fostering a culture of trust, inclusion, and engagement.

Co-chair monthly Staff Committee meetings with the MD Cargo and ensure action on key issues.

Drive delivery of People Plan objectives with a focus on engagement and the employee journey.

Partner with People Relations on consistent policy and employee relations

Act as a vital link between the Social Committee and Cargo Leadership Team, supporting initiatives that build belonging.

Represent Cargo in cross-functional working groups, ensuring all voices are heard.

Champion learning and development, building a motivated and future-ready team.

Lead Cargo spaneting and communications, partnering with Marketing CoE to set strategy, deliver campaigns, and measure success.

Own and deliver impactful internal and external events across trade, industry, and customer engagement.

Drive PR activity in collaboration with Marketing/PR teams to enhance visibility and preference.

Manage the business development budget to deliver maximum ROI across events and partnerships.

Oversee continuous product innovation, ensuring competitiveness and efficiency.

Lead the Cargo Customer Survey programme, harnessing insights to shape customer experience.

Provide thought leadership that drives innovation, competitiveness, and customer love.

Lead cross-functional strategic projects that deliver operational and commercial improvements.

Broker expertise and resources across teams to ensure successful delivery of key initiatives.

Champion AI and automation adoption across Cargo, aligning with the wider airline’s strategy.

A proven record of inspiring and leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments.

Sound judgment and decision-making, balancing people, operational, and commercial needs.

Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

Outstanding communication skills, with the confidence to present complex ideas clearly.

The ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritise effectively, and deliver results.

Integrity, discretion, and an understanding of data privacy when handling sensitive information.

Analytical confidence, with the ability to use data and KPIs to drive performance.

Experience in leading change, transformation, and continuous improvement.

Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
