Job Summary:
Strategic Business Development Management is the function within Kawneer that own and manages a portfolio of projects with targeted growth in building end use segments.
The Strategic Business Development Manager will own the strategy and execution for target initiatives to sustain strategic partnerships and drive above spanet growth. The position will work with owners, architects, developers, general contractors and fabricators to build strategic alliances, analyze and consult on segment trends and ultimately own and drive revenue growth through new and existing channels. The Market Segment Manager will continuously gather spanet intelligence to proactively identify needs for new products, services and digital solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead a designated commercial team to develop and implement effective strategies to deliver short- and long-term segment goals.
- Develop relationships with and call on key stakeholders in order to understand needs and identity spanet opportunities.
- Translate stakeholders’ needs into an executable roadmap of products and services.
- Work closely with cross-functional counterparts (Sales, Finance, New Product Development, Manufacturing) in the development and deployment of segment strategies.
- Review progress against plan to continuously assess commercial potential, making adjustments as necessary in order to assure optimal volume and profitability.
- Foster spanet driven (not product) mindset within organization.
- Understand spanet forecasts and trends to properly position business within the segment.
- Manage opportunity pipeline to effectively forecast segment performance.
- Gather and build competitive information that will help the business provide the most appropriate products, pricing and services to meet the segment needs and create differentiation between Kawneer and its key competitors.
- Monitor all critical measurement systems to ensure that these systems are in control and targets are being met.
- Build segment presentations that effectively communicate the value proposition and position brand to drive spanet penetration.
- Own Salesforce.com platform oversight for Arconic’s BCS business unit
- Prepare and present monthly segment results and business plans to executive leadership.
- Travel required and estimated at 50-70
- Other duties as assigned based on business need
Also note:
- Strong leadership background of cross-functional teams
- Ability to effectively hold teams accountable to timelines, quality and assigned budgets
- Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have strong financial and business acumen and a history of delivering on time and on budget
- Analytical expertise with ability to effectively review and use data from multiple sources to draw sound conclusions
- Understanding of manufacturing cost and ability to analyze cost to establish customer pricing
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous outside sales experience in commercial building and construction industry;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position;
- Knowledge of Kawneer Products and Services.
