Job Description:
To support the continuous growth of our Working-Party activities and the global Airbus fleet, we are opening a position for a Working-Party Manager (WPM) based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
The Working-Party Manager is a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) holding an active EASA Part-66 AML (Aircraft Maintenance License). In this role, you will oversee working parties (technical modifications and/or repairs) on delivered aircraft by leading cross-functional teams deployed to customer sites.
In the event of major repairs, this role may also encompass the duties of a Repair Embodiment Manager (REM), taking full accountability for the repair embodiment process from initial assessment to final release. You will provide operational and functional leadership for all on-site personnel, including spares, engineering representatives, preparators, sub-contractors, workers, and inspectors.
Scope and Dimensions
Team Leadership: Lead and manage diverse teams of up to 30 personnel, including core working-party members and staff from manufacturing units.
Project Scale: Oversee Working Parties with values up to approximately 4 Million and involving up to 3,000 labour-hours.
Key Challenges & Opportunities
Lead multicultural and multidisciplinary teams (Engineering, Spares, Manufacturing) on remote sites.
Maintain strict adherence to EASA Part 145 or any other NAA airworthiness regulations.
Keep project expenses within estimated and agreed-upon budgets while completing work to the contractual schedule.
Adapt to short- and long-term travel requirements with a high degree of flexibility.
Navigate specific or last-minute customer requests, successfully negotiating additional or deferred items.
Undergo necessary training and qualifications to stay current with new aircraft types and updated Airworthiness Authority regulations.
Main Responsibilities
Operational & Project Management:
Manage the working party on-site, including site preparation, installation and verifying that facilities comply with internal processes.
Conduct continuous safety risk assessments (dynamic assessments before, during, and after maintenance activities).
Allocate tasks to staff based on required competencies and coordinate daily progress with the customer.
Ensure completion of work within the agreed downtime and budget.
Perform incoming inspections of parts, tools, and the aircraft.
Monitor and ensure the availability of additional parts, components, tools, and consumables.
Provide working-party standby support when available.
Airworthiness & Quality Assurance:
Ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft for all work performed.
Establish the Working Party file and issue the Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) in accordance with EASA/FAR Part 145 rules and Airbus procedures.
Manage major repairs upon request, minimizing global lead time from assessment to CRS.
Participate in airworthiness authority audits.
Stakeholder & Resource Management:
Participate in working-party preparation (work scope, planning, resourcing, documentation, and logistics).
Negotiate with resources managers, manufacturing and third parties (vendors, repair stations) to ensure the availability of competent staff (e.g., Mechanics, Avionics technicians).
Negotiate and formally document any additional work requested by the customer.
Ensure accurate, concise reporting and optimal monitoring of multi-skilled teams regarding both technical and human aspects.
Uphold Ethics & Compliance in all circumstances, including team and customer management, customs handling, and procurement.
Key Deliverables
Deliver working parties on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Guarantee absolute compliance with EASA Part 145 regulations.
Drive continuous improvement in procedures, forms, quality, lead times, and tooling to maximize customer satisfaction.
Candidate Profile
Education & Qualifications:
EASA Part 66 Certifying/Support Staff “C” and “B1/B2” (A background in Metallic Structure is a strong advantage).
Airbus family type ratings and provide documented evidence of exercising certification privileges within the preceding two years, comprising either six continuous months of maintenance experience, 100 base maintenance days, or 180 line maintenance tasks
General technical education (Technical Bachelor, BTS, or equivalent).
Basic aeronautical training.
Technical Expertise:
15&43; years of experience in the aeronautical industry (MRO Part-145 experience is highly preferred).
Maintenance experience as Cat C and B1/B2.
Type Training or equivalent experience on the Airbus Family (A380/A350 experience is a strong plus).
Proven experience in managing, preparing, and planning working parties.
Proficiency with extensive and highly integrated Electronic Data Processing systems.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking is mandatory).
