As a CCSD Technician, you will provide the lead in the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) and ensure best and most up to date practice, and regulatory compliance in this area of increasing complexity.
In this role, you will:
- Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the department by ensuring adherence to best practice in surface disinfection and maintaining a generally high standard of cleanliness in the area
- Remain current in the knowledge and practise of decontamination, sterilisation, packaging and distribution of instruments and supplies, and attend such continuing medical education as is required to maintain registration with Dubai Health Authority.
- Monitor and log efficiency and usage of all equipment and complete required testing to ensure timely supply and readiness of equipment. This will include conducting the relevant tests and monitor performance on a regular basis. Monitoring of equipment via MELATRACE performance indication system. Ensure appropriate filter changes in deionised water plant. Maintain up to date records of all of the above for regulatory compliance.
- Apply knowledge and performance of cold sterilising/disinfection in order to prepare equipment that cannot be autoclaved for clinical use.
- Maintain appropriate supply of sterile instruments. Properly handle, process, and store sterilized equipment, stamping each bagged instrument with 6 month expiry date, and including COMPLY stem indicator test strips
- Responsible for identifying dental and surgical instruments and appropriately package instrument sets for clinical areas.
- Practice safe handling of contaminated instruments through following the appropriate practice and regulatory compliance and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
- Report malfunctions of equipment to Dental Nurse in charge of administration and VP ? Dental in a timely manner.
QualificationTo be considered for this role you must meet the below requirements:
- High school education and diploma/certificate accepted by Dubai Health Authority for CSSD Technician license
- 4+ years (Previous experience in a dental environment an advantage)
- To be competent in operating: Ultrasonic cleaner, Quattro care system for auto lubing, Washer/disinfectors, Autoclaves, Deionised water plant, Instrument tracking and tracing system
